Hello and welcome to my technology-based page! My name is Shannon Thomas, and I am thrilled to have you here. I live in the charming town of Gainesville, GA, where I transitioned from a former elementary school teacher to my current role as an Instructional Technology Coach. This journey has been a deeply fulfilling one, as it allows me to merge my love for education with my passion for technology.

A Passion for Creative Education

One of my greatest joys in teaching is writing. I find immense satisfaction in uncovering innovative ways to keep students engaged while allowing them to express their creativity. As an Instructional Technology Coach, I am constantly on the lookout for creative lessons and tools to share with teachers and students alike.

Favorite Tools for Learning and Creativity

In both my classroom and day-to-day life, I have a few favorite tools that I love using:

  • GarageBand: This is my go-to app for creating podcasts. It’s a fantastic way to encourage students to explore their voices and share their stories with the world.

  • Canva: This versatile tool is perfect for both professional and student use. Whether it's designing presentations, creating engaging visuals, or enhancing classroom projects, Canva makes it all possible.

  • Brisk AI: I enjoy using this tool to streamline processes and encourage creative problem-solving. It's a brilliant way to integrate artificial intelligence into the learning environment and make lesson planning EASIER!

Preparing for the Future

The world of education is constantly evolving, and so is technology. My number one goal and priority is ensuring that we are preparing our students for the future. By leveraging technology, we can empower students to create and produce their own learning experiences. I am dedicated to helping both educators and students navigate this ever-changing landscape.
